Enter the world of Strange Companions, a place built for the ongoing inconvenience of being alive when certainty is unavailable. There is no incorrect way in. Enter through sound, where field recordings, synthesis and distortion reorganize familiar environments until they become slightly less trustworthy. Enter through publication, where observation, taxonomy and storytelling attempt to document things that have shown very little interest in being properly understood.  Enter through divination, through an oracle system that refuses prediction, reassurance and most other traditionally useful oracle-related services. Or enter through visual art, where objects, images and symbolic language give form to the companions, pressures, contradictions and unresolved situations we have somehow agreed to continue living amongst. They are different entrances into the same world: a system for observing how we cope, interpret, misinterpret, attach meaning, lose the plot and continue anyway.  For the closing reception, Bramble Lee Pryde, Stephen Planiden and James (Jim) Copeman will extend the sound world of Strange Companions through live performances through the evening.
